How to Choose and Order Suitable Mesh?

Experience will help you determine which grid numbers you prefer to use in a single project, but there are some guidelines to help you get started with different grid numbers.

● 25 to 40 mesh count are ideal for flash or shimmer inks because these contain particles that cannot pass through finer mesh.

● 60 mesh allows a large amount of ink deposition. It is commonly used for block numbers and letters on sweatshirts

● 80 to 86 mesh numbers are commonly used for thermal transfer, printing on thick bases, and when using certain special inks (such as powder puff ink).

● 110 to 160 mesh numbers are the most versatile and are commonly used in screen printing. Screens at the lower end of the mesh mesh spectrum reduce heavy ink deposition and are ideal for printing substrates on dark fabrics or printing bold colors. At the higher end of the mesh count range, you can print more detailed images while maintaining fair ink deposition.

● 180 to 200 mesh counts are ideal for printing some detailed images with light inks on dark fabrics.

● 230 to 280 mesh mesh will provide fine prints and a softer feel; However, since they allow for lighter ink deposition, prints created using these fine screens will not be as bright or vivid.
